About Laura Wallace, M.S.

Laura's in-depth understanding of the college admissions process comes from her many years of experience in the field.  As an independent college counselor, Laura has guided many students through the college search maze. She is able to provide students and their families with the tools necessary to help them make an informed decision.  Laura believes that helping students gain a better understanding of themselves is the key to finding the college that is the right fit for them.  


 Laura has also worked in various school districts in the Philadelphia area as a high school and middle school guidance counselor.  She has provided services in the area of academic success, helping students to reach their academic potential.  She has also provided counseling services in a group setting as well as individually to students in the areas of stress and anger management, grief and loss, and life adjustment.  


Laura is a Professional Member of Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), the leading organization for college consultants.  She graduated from their Practices and Principles Training Institute at Johns Hopkins University in July 2005. IECA requires its members to abide by a strict set of ethical guidelines that govern the actions of consultants when working with students and their families, colleges, and high schools.  Laura is also a member of the Middle Atlantic Career Counseling Association (MACCA). 


Laura is a graduate of the University at Albany in Albany, NY, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.  She is also a graduate of Gwynedd-Mercy University in Pennsylvania, where she earned her Master of Science degree in Elementary and Secondary School Counseling.
