College Planning

College Planning

Initial Assessment. Getting to know the student is the first and most important step, with assessment and in-depth discussion of strengths, interests, and goals. This step helps students to get a clearer picture of possible college majors and careers.

College List Development. Research tools and a personalized college list is provided, based on the student's academic profile and college major and career interests, designed to meet their individual needs.

College Visit and Interview Readiness. Advisement to students and parents is given, on how to get the most out of college visits and how to prepare for college interviews. Questions to ask and qualities to look for in a college are very important while keeping in mind a student's goals.

Application Support. Empowering the student to take ownership of the application process is key. A comprehensive list of deadlines and tasks for each school is developed, enabling the student to focus on presenting their best possible college application.

Essay Development. Helping a student find their "voice" that reflects his or her own personality is important in developing a well-written college essay.

Financial Aid and Scholarships. Help families by giving them a solid understanding of the financial aid process and providing them with the resources to answer questions that arise during the process.
